"The Elites" vs. "OMNiSCIENT" in arena
1. While both forces prepared for a month and the battle
plans laid, the onslaught began in earnest by both combatants on Sunday's eve.
The Elites a federal battle group known for for its
dogfighting skills and not their arena skills went up against one of the most
feared veteran battle hardened of all swarms - OMNiSCIENT. Saying the word OMNI gives other federal battle groups the shakes. True
to OMNI's character, the first battle was
ferocious! To OMNI's credit, they were out
numbered and their experience showed in defending their galaxy - The battle for
Klendathu was long and hard.
OMNI quickly gained a strong foot hold in sector 2 and
had loaded tankers waiting to strike Earth. As the battle raged on,
The Elite tanker hunter pilots discovered the bug
laden tankers in Earth's solar system and quickly began to attack. While
Elite pilots relentlessly attacked Klendathu, Elite pilots in sector 2 received their orders and
began their charge to re-take the sector. When OMNI's tankers were discovered in Earth's solar system
and their attack languished, The Elite foot hold
in sector 2 was regained.
With the bug tankers
and their troops destroyed, sector 2 re-taken and the relentless
Elite attack upon Klendathu, allowed Admiral
Zornstar to issue new orders and send more fighters and carriers to apply
additional pressure on the Arachnids home planet. True to form,
OMNI re-took VooDoo Rock and dug in deep and kept
The Elites from taking Klendathu for over an hour.
The Elites changed tactics from all out pressure
on Klendathu to wave attacks and Klendathu finally fell into
Elite control.
This set the scene for
the next battle which found The Elites jubilant
but not at their assigned posts !!! By the time The
Elites got their act together, OMNI had
total control of all the planets in sector 2. An all out OMNI offensive had developed and all
Elites were ordered to fall back and re-take
sector 2 and help assist with defending Earth. While a few fighters attacked
Klendathu and sector 2 was being attacked by The
Elites, OMNI slammed Earth with all their
might. OMNI attacked with all it's forces in
Earth's galaxy going for broke and the galaxy was just too heavily defended -
It was close!!! OMNI could not recover fast enough
to get back to Klendathu, giving The Elites the
second victory.
Following the
battle, each side (fed & bug) voted for their opponent to receive the coveted MVP
award. This is one of the biggest honors to receive in the SST community -
Recognition from your opponents. Both sides cast their votes and the ballots
were counted Wednesday. There was a tie for "OMNI" MVP. CONGRATULATIONS MVP WINNERS The results for the
